Tshwane’s Electricity Crisis: Act Now, No More Excuses

Residents and businesses in Tshwane are paying the price for political failure. Prolonged power outages, collapsing infrastructure, and poor response times are crippling households, threatening jobs, and pushing the City’s economy to collapse.
Instead of protecting electricity infrastructure and keeping the lights on, the ANC-led City prioritised R575 million for spending on water tankers and watchman services, instead of electricity. This has left critical networks exposed, vehicles standing idle, and industry feeds at risk.
Tshwane does not need excuses — it needs action.
Sign our petition and demand immediate action to stabilise the City’s electricity network by:
- Urgently protecting 11kV lines and other high-risk infrastructure
- Restoring critical electricity feeds to keep industry and jobs running
- Activating Joint Operations Centres (JOCs) to coordinate emergency response
- Deploying municipal vehicles and resources currently standing idle
The ANC must:
Reprioritise the R575 million allocated to watchman and water tankers, to electricity services.
Most importantly, an independent investigations into infrastructure failures must be conducted.
This is how you stabilise Tshwane. This is how you protect jobs, households, and the Capital City’s future.
Sign this petition to force the ANC to reallocate electricity funds back to services and put Tshwane first.
