Steve Tshwete Local Municipality must execute it's By-Laws!
We, the undersigned residents of the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality call on the Steve Tshwete Local Council to execute its By-Laws, namely by rezoning of the property registered as Nomndeni Zamabhele Lodge, situated at 74 Jan Cilliers Street in Golfsig. The house is officially rezoned as a guesthouse, it is however, now being used as a “Health-Care-Centre”.
No advertisement or notice have been given from owner that their intention is to use the property as a “health care centre” for a Covid-19 Isolation Centre. The Council is failing to ensure that residents’ rights are not violated and they live in an environment that is safe for their well-being, by allowing the Covid-19 Isolation Centre in the middle of a residential suburb; namely, the Nomndeni Zamabhele Lodge. An urgent solution must be reached to solve this problem. As the community of Golfsig we request that the Covid-19 Isolation Centre in the above mentioned address must be closed IMMEDIATELY!!!
