The DA demands that Metsimaholo Municipality:
Suspend all development or rezoning plans of the sanctuary and the Highveld Garden, and reaffirm the sanctuary’s protected status through Council and national registration.
Form a local rehabilitation task team with conservation experts and community representatives.
Include the sanctuary in the municipality’s biodiversity and tourism plans for long-term protection.
