Petition to remove Rand West Municipality’s corrupt mayor and speaker
Sigh this petition to show your support for the DA’s fight to remove Rand West City Mayor, Cllr Brenda Mahuma and Speaker, Cllr Violet Nqina-Mzondeki, following a damning report on investigations into gross maladministration, fraud and corruption in the municipality.
The DA will fight to the end to ensure that this delinquent pair is removed from the municipality in the interest of residents, and has tabled urgent motions of no confidence in delinquent Rand West City mayor and speaker.
Mayor Brenda Mahuma has been constantly absent and her office is redundant. She has turned a blind eye to the ongoing allegations of maladministration in the Municipality.
Under her watch, the fruitless and wasteful expenditure at the Municipality has ballooned to over R1.5 billion and sewer, and roads and stormwater systems have collapsed.
Speaker Violet Nqina-Mzondeki is reported to have improperly interfered to stop an important Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) report from being presented.
The Speaker has no business to disallow an MPAC report to be tabled, as this committee exercises oversight over the executive functionaries of council and ensures good governance in the municipality.
