Government’s proposed tariff increases, as well as suspect proposed spending in certain areas, is cause for grave concern. We urge the public to engage this budget and make their voices heard during the public participation process before we vote on this budget in May.

These are the proposed increases:

• Water: residential and business increased to 14.9%

• Electricity: increased to 14%

• Sanitation: residential and business increased to 12.9%

• Refuse Removal: residential increased to 8% and business increased to 9%

We urge the public to join us in rejecting the shocking budget that is financially unsound and irresponsible.
