Gauteng Government must account for the failure to deliver Palm Springs Multi-Purpose Centre promised to Emfuleni residents
Another broken promise, by a broken government. We demand answers, and action!
The Palm Springs Multi-Purpose Centre remains an unfulfilled promise for the residents of Emfuleni, as the Gauteng government has yet to initiate this much-anticipated project.
An oversight inspection conducted by the Democratic Alliance (DA) has revealed that not a single brick has been laid, despite over R24 million being allocated for the construction of the centre.
Claims made by the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) that phase one of the project has been completed have been proven false and misleading. The people of Emfuleni, who urgently need sporting facilities to nurture local talent and keep the youth away from drugs and alcohol, deserve better.
The DA in Gauteng is calling on the Gauteng Department of Cogta to urgently investigate the missing R24 million that was allocated for the centre.
We ask that you please sign our petition and help us to hold the Gauteng provincial and Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) accountable for their negligence toward the residents of Emfuleni.
