Jobs not permits – Help the DA fight the Business Licensing Bill

Small businesses in South Africa already struggle under far too much paperwork and red tape. It costs them thousands of rands to comply with the regulations that already exist.
The Minister’s new Business Licensing Bill will make this much worse. Requiring municipalities who can’t deliver pothole-free roads or consistent water supply to also decide whether businesses can operate or not is a recipe for disaster.
We should be encouraging entrepreneurs to start businesses and create jobs. Why do they need permission from the government to do so? The DA demands that the Minister of Small Business Development withdraw this Bill.
If you are a small business or concerned citizen, your signature will help the DA to fight for the right to operate for our informal traders, our street vendors, and every other small business trying its hardest to grow the economy and create jobs.
