Steve Tshwete Local Municipality must impose nuisance and public health by laws in Ward 14 must impose nuisance and public health by laws in Ward 14

Impose By-Laws in our municipality

Section 24 of the Constitution provides that everyone has the right to an environment that is not harmful to their health or wellbeing and to have the environment protected through reasonable legislative measures.

We, the undersigned residents of the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality in Ward 14 (Gholfsig, Clubville, Midlands Estate and Robertson Landgoed) urges the municipality to impose Nuisance and Public Health By-Laws without delay. The municipality needs to ensure that residents’ rights to live in a peaceful and harmonise environment is entrenched as stipulated in the constitution.

Hence the following matter is of concern:

  1. The unacceptable loud noise and music that is played, which carry-on until the early hours of the morning.

An urgent solution must be reached to solve the aforementioned problem by law enforcements or by appointing a consultant to investigate and advise council/municipality on how to deal with offenders/wrong-doers and force them to obey the By-Laws of the municipality.
