The stations within the area must function at their optimal capacity in order to make a real difference in the fight against crime.

Chapter 11 of the Constitution states that the police have a mandate to serve and protect the people of SA, but they cannot effectively prevent, combat and investigate crime with compromised capacity.
None of the Germiston police stations are in compliance with Chapter 11 of the Constitution which enshrines the right of all citizens to be safe-guarded from crime. The police stations are severely short staffed and do not have the necessary man power or vehicles to perform their visible policing functions as referred to within the Constitution, which hampers their ability to execute their mandate.
With your help, we can put pressure on national government to act. Sign now!
Not a single sector within the Germiston Constituency has two vehicles per sector as prescribed within legislation to do adequate visible policing. Vehicles are sent in for repairs and in many cases remain in the government mechanical garages for more than 250 days. Urgent intervention is needed, we must put pressure on the South African Police Service to alleviate this problem.
The most recent crime stats reveal a shocking state of affairs:
- Murder up by 11,5%
- Assault Gender Based Violence against children up by 58,5%
- Assault Gender Based Violence against women up 54, 7%
- 83 people are murdered in South Africa every day!
This cannot go on. Please join our fight and sign this petition demanding effective policing and operational capacity in Germiston.
