Lekwa’s appointed administrator must provide a comprehensive turnaround solution to the electricity problem affecting our Municipality

We, the undersigned residents of Lekwa Local Municipality petitions the appointed administrator (Johann Mettler) overseeing Lekwa Local Municipality to intervene and help solve the ongoing electricity woes which have now caused violent protests in our community. 

Basic services such as electricity and energy, water and sanitation, refuse and waste removal are critical services to improve the lives of people.

When the national government intervened in Lekwa Local Municipality, which was faced by a number of service delivery issues, we were under the impression that the appointment of the administrator will help solve the electricity crisis.  Hence, we call on the administrator to provide a comprehensive turnaround solution to the electricity problem that affects our Lekwa.

It is unacceptable to be without electricity during this cold winter.
