Joburg Water’s board must go!
Join the DA's fight for #NoDryTapsGauteng — starting now!
The sorry state of water supply in Johannesburg can be blamed on the board of Joburg Water. A city owned entity, with the executive in the City of Johannesburg at the steer of board appointments, that filled the board with cadres and deployees.
Deployees who are not Engineers, who do not have a sound understanding of what is needed to reform and improve infrastructure, and most importantly, a board that has let the residents of Johannesburg down.
Your taps are dry, and their pockets are full.
Joburg Water should not be for sale, and the executive in the City should not be selling board seats to their friends.
We demand:
- A review of all board members credentials, and political affiliations;
- A dissolution of the board until this review has been completed; and
- An independent third-party audit firm to conduct the investigation and subsequent appointments, and where applicable, reappointments.
You have a voice, and deserve to have a say. Let the City of Johannesburg’s executive know how you feel. Add your comment along with your name to the petition.
