Petition to end forced and unfair national employment equity regulations in NMB

In Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) Municipality we are forced to comply with national government’s unfair and forced employment equity legislation. As it stands, the Municipality’s employment equity policy now reflects the demographics of the province and not the Metro. This has led to thousands of people missing out on employment opportunities as municipal demographics differ vastly from provincial demographics.
This petition calls on the minister of Employment and Labour to revise his incorrect interpretation of his own regulations and to allow NMB to implement an employment equity policy based on municipal demographics.
The petition will be handed over by PE Northern Areas Constituency Leader, Yusuf Cassim MPL, to DA Shadow Minister of Employment and Labour, Dr Michael Cardo MP, to submit in national Parliament.
